Add a new holiday party to the list of “must attends” this season. Rare Bird Brewpub and Create TC have teamed up to throw “A Very Rare-y Christmas” which will be held on Saturday, December 20 at Rare Bird Brewpub. The festivities begin at noon in the back parking lot in downtown Traverse City.

Tina Schuett, Head Brewer of Rare Bird Brewpub is excited about the party. “This will be our first big event here at Rare Bird and we are looking forward to making it a fun, different, and entertaining event for years to come.”

Doors open at noon with live music starting at 2 pm outside by The Crane Wives, who are a home grown indie-folk outfit from Grand Rapids, Michigan that defies musical stereotypes. They utilize three-part vocal harmonies, eclectic instrumentation, and a passion for song craft to create organic music that is both accessible and innovative. Each live show features contagious energy as well as original music that ranges from whisper quiet ballads to danceable grooves.

At 5 pm outside, Brady Corcoran and Sweater Party will take the stage. After spending the last five years living and working as a musician and songwriter in Los Angeles, Brady has moved back home to Traverse City and could not be happier about the new lifestyle. Having recently finished his first semester as an instructor for NMC’s Audio Technology program, Brady is very excited to be writing and performing music again. Starting Sweater Party in LA, Brady has written and recorded a wide variety of music, collaborating with a constantly rotating lineup of talented musicians. Here in TC, Brady hopes to bring some of that music to life, performing with talented local musicians and longtime friends.

Inside the pub, 2Bays DJ’s will be lighting up the dance floor with fresh beats and light show from 10 pm until 2 am. 2BaysDJ’s has been named the Red Hot Best Party DJ of Northern Michigan. Scott Perry and his team of DJ’s were national recipients of a 2014 WeddingWire.com Couples’ Choice Award and The Knot Best of Weddings 2014 Pick. With their wide range of skills and expertise they are determined to rock every event.

The Christmas party will include a large open venue in the parking lot directly behind the pub. Several burn barrels and umbrella heaters will keep you warm while you enjoy the outdoor activities such as S’more Station, Corn Hole, Brat and Hot Dog bar, and much more. Outdoor festivities will last from noon until 10 pm.

Inside, there will be food and drink specials all day including a wide variety of Christmas beers and cocktails including warm Glühwein and Egg Nog. A light pairing menu will also be available.

Re-entry is allowed. Guests that wear a full Santa or Elf costume will receive discounts.
