It wouldn’t be the holiday season without seeing the Nutcracker live on stage! The weekend of December 19, 2014 don’t miss your opportunity to see the Christmas classic at the Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee.
Ballet instructor Ingrid Bond said the Ramsdell Theatre was built around the time of the Nutcracker premiere in 1892. “I decided to stage our version of the ballet in the ‘heyday’ of Victorian life, utilizing painted drop scenery and a large backstage crew to showcase the Ramsdell’s charming theatrical features,” she said. “The focal point of our ‘Nutcracker’ is community involvement that stretches far beyond our county borders. We become better acquainted with our neighbors and together, we present a classic holiday story without uttering a word.”
