The Apple Harvest Dinner is taking place on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay. Black Star Farms Executive Chef Jonathan Dayton and Event Coordinator Stephanie Wiitala invite you to enjoy an evening inspired by the best of Northern Michigan harvests. This month’s theme is apples and the dinner has been designed to explore the versatility of these local autumn treasures with a six-course meal.

Relax and enjoy a fabulous local food and wine experience featuring five Black Star Farms wine paired courses. Tickets are limited to 30 guests and the price includes tax and gratuity.

Although the official menu hasn’t been released yet, one item that will be included is the apple salad (image featured above) which features hard apple cider poached apple, house ricotta, prosciutto crisp and candied walnut.

A few items from last year’s menu include:

  • Honey verjus braised pork belly, poached McIntosh apple fritter, pumpkin cream and pea shoot paired with a 2006 Cabernet Franc
  • Chestnut apple pine nut crusted rack of lamb, gnocchi du zucca, sweet sage corn sauce, crisp leek with 2011 Acapella Pinot Noir
