Downtown Grub Crawl
Downtown Traverse City has become an epicurean destination in its own right. The Downtown Grub Crawl is your chance to taste all that it has to offer! On Friday, August 29th, the evening begins with registration at the Century 21 Northland parking lot on the corner of Park and State from 6 pm to 7 pm—meet your fellow Crawlers and receive your Grub Crawl Survival Kit. After the send-off, stroll to your favorite selections of the participating restaurants and/or merchants listed. Use your 15 sampling punches in a trick or treat style exploration of food or drink offerings. Dining in the Dark
Dining in the Dark is a unique sensory experience that takes guests on a rare epicurean adventure. This is a one-of-a kind concept that has been enjoyed by foodies across the globe: blindfolded dinner guests absorb the flavors of the food before them. When you eat and drink without the sense of sight, your senses of taste, touch, smell and sound are intensified. The flagship event takes place on the grounds outside the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa on Saturday, August 30th. Enjoy food and beverage tasting experiences, inspirational epicurean retailers and live entertainment. White House Dinner with former White House Chef, Walter Scheib
The Taste of Traverse City festival has teamed with former White House Executive Chef and Iron Chef participant Walter Scheib to bring an exciting and unique dinner experience to our foodie fantasyland on Saturday, August 30th. For 11 years, Chef Scheib served up his signature brand of innovative cuisine at the White House, preparing everything from daily meals for the First Family to formal state dinners for world leaders such as Nelson Mandela, Lady Diana Spencer, and Emperor Aikihito. Now you can experience this once-in-a-lifetime epicurean experience! The Taste of Traverse City White House Dinner features four delectable courses inspired by the favorite dishes of past presidents. The Best of Brunch
On Sunday, August 31st, the Hagerty Center in Traverse City will host The Best of Brunch. Warning: This is not your typical Sunday brunch. Numerous sampling stations will be positioned around the Hagerty Center, with each brunch hub being the brainchild of a well-crafted, creative culinary team consisting of a chef, supplier/farm, and beverage company/coffee shop.
