Give back and promote Northern Michigan’s local foods movement by funding the Grand Traverse Edible Trails Project. The goal of the project is to plant some of the first public food forests in Michigan, so that healthy, wild foods can be enjoyed by travelers along the Leelanau Trail—a Northern Michigan hiking and biking trail operated by Traverse Area Recreational Trails (TART)—between Traverse City and Suttons Bay.
The project is spearheaded by Americorps Vista Volunteer Jonathan Aylward and several other collaborating partners. Northern Michigan-based musician and community activist Seth Bernard will perform a walking concert along the Leelanau Trail if the crowdsourcing effort eclipses $5000 in funds raised.
