Looking to enjoy the taste of home-harvested honey, but a little nervous about getting stung while reaching into the honey hole?  An upcoming free beekeeping seminar in Traverse City will have the would-be apiarist prepared to gather the sweet stuff—no astringent required.

Cherryland Garden Club will sponsor a “Beekeeping Basics” program, hosted by speaker Suzette Cooley-Sanborn of Island Amber Apiary.   Topics covered include how to start and care for a colony, materials required, and time commitment needed to be successful.

The program begins at 7 pm on Tuesday, March 11 at the Central United Methodist Church, which is located in Traverse City at 222 Cass Street.  This program is free and open to the public.
