It’s time! MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan voting and nominating is open, now through March 14th!

Old favorites return: burger, pizza, teacher and redhead. Plus lots of new categories: campground, car dealership, veterinarian, pediatrician, place to launch your canoe or kayak and pre-school. Some categories beg for Valentine’s Day attention like place for a date, martini, masseuse or masseur. Other categories reflect trends like Red Hot Best food truck, lunch to go item and local jarred food. All in all, it’s another red hot ballot. So, vote for the 2014 MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan in all 101 categories or just a few.

Once you vote, make sure you share your favorites with friends, family, colleagues. Year after year, the difference between the top winners in many categories is remarkably close–despite 10,000 people voting!

If you don’t see your favorite nominated, again this year, you can write in your nomination. It takes a day or two for those write in nominations to show up on the ballot because we hand review and approve all the nominations–so there’s no monkey business! Rest assured all those write-ins get counted!

One vote per email address, please. Also, you’ll want to pay attention to the nomination requirements in the parenthesis. For example, we’ll need the name of your favorite bartender and where he or she works. Like the soups at Greenhouse Cafe? Be sure to name one specific soup in addition to the Greenhouse location. Same is true for sub sandwich; name a specific sandwich and sub shop in your nomination.

We’ll tally the Red Hot Best results and share the top of each category in our 2014 June issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine. Subscribe by April 25th to get the 2014 Red Hot Best issue and then use it to guide your Northern Michigan adventures throughout the year.
