The Traverse City Central and West Nordic Ski Team will be hosting a pasta dinner before the annual Vasa cross-country ski race on Friday, February 7th.  The dinner will be held from 5pm to 8pm at Timber Ridge Resort, which it located at 4050 Hammond Road East in Traverse City; Timber Ridge’s banquet facility is adjacent to the Vasa Race packet pick-up station in the main lodge.

This is an annual fundraiser for the Traverse City Central and West High School Nordic Ski Teams. The cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children (12 and under). The menu includes pasta with a choice of vegetarian or meat sauce, Caesar salad, Stone House Bread, and homemade desserts. Skiers from both high schools will be helping out at the event.

The Nordic Ski Team started in the 1980’s, when what is now Traverse City Central was the only high school affiliated with Traverse City Area Public Schools. This year’s team is comprised of 45 boys and girls from both Traverse City Central and West High Schools.  In past years, the Traverse City Central team has won several state championships.

Traverse City is hosting the State High School Championships at the Vasa Pathway trailhead on February 14th and 15th, 2014.

If you would like to support the teams, but are unable to attend the dinner, you may mail donations to: TC Boosters Nordic Ski Team, Attn. John Kostrzewa C/O Central High School, 1150 Milliken Dr., Traverse City, MI 49686.
