Classic romance meets Frog Pond Village at Northern Michigan wedding uniting Booke and Eric. The couple fell in love after many years of close friendship while studying pharmacy at Ferris State University. In September of 2013, they finally said “I do” at their wedding in Interlochen.

Brooke—originally from Grand Blanc—and Eric live together in his hometown of Saginaw. They decided on an Up North wedding due to their shared love of vacations to the Traverse City area, and fell in love with the natural setting of Frog Pond Village. “We both grew up camping and loving the outdoors, and felt that Frog Pond was romantic and elegant, but a little bit rustic, too,” says Brooke. “We knew when we saw it that it was perfect for us.”

A wedding date in early fall inspired the couple’s color scheme, which included rich harvest tones of eggplant, caramel, pale green, and ivory. “Frog Pond is already so beautiful that it didn’t need much,” says Brooke of the wedding’s décor, which included twinkle lights and lush flower arrangements by Karen Snyder, florist and co-owner of Frog Pond Village.

The couple exchanged vows surrounded by friends, family, and the rustic intimacy of the Tadpole Chapel. With Eric’s cousin officiating and music by Vitamin String Quartet, the moment was, in Brooke’s words, “just beautiful.” After photographs, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres, everyone sat down to a buffet-style dinner. Eric insisted on having a delicious and memorable meal, and with choices of tilapia, Italian-crusted chicken, or manicotti prepared by Grandview Catering, his wish was granted. The newlyweds danced to “The Perfect Kiss” by Marie Hines, and the throughout the evening, guests let loose by roasting marshmallows, smiling for the photo booth, and dancing to the music of DJ John Fyfe of Sounds Unlimited.

Despite the day’s rainy start, the skies cleared just in time for a perfect day of romance, laughter, and love, all amidst the natural beauty of Northern Michigan.
