Join 7 & 4 News for a Cooking Class at Northern Michigan's Bella Fortuna

Northern Michigan Attractions: See how great TV and great food are made! Join us Tuesday, July 9 when TV 7 & 4 comes to Bella Fortuna for Chef Bendetta Vitali's cooking classes.

We had a great first cooking class today with Chef Benedetta Vitali as she showed us how she makes wonderful pasta fresco all’ouvo, the fresh egg pasta that Florentines adore.  Add to that her tagliatelle al ragù toscano, a classic Tuscan beef sauce served over ribbons of fresh pasta and sformato di tonno con fagiolini  – chilled tuna molds with green beans, and you had  a roomful of people not just enjoying the food but enjoying the chance to learn new and great ways to prepare wonderful  Tuscan dishes at home.

Tomorrow afternoon’s class will be even more exciting. We have a great menu to prepare and also TV 7&4 will attend the cooking class to shoot video of Chef Benedetta preparing her menu for tomorrow. We still have room for sign-ups for this class so if you’ve always wanted to attend one of our Celebrity Chef demonstrations AND you’d love to see how local reporters go out in the field to cover the news, please join us.

When you do you’ll enjoy a rich Tuscan menu including passato di peperoni gialli, yellow  pepper soup; involtini di pesce spade, braised swordfish rolls; caponata,  Sicilian-style diced vegetables stewed with raisins and pine nuts and mousse di marroni con amaretti, a chestnut mousse with amaretto cookies.  As always the small plates of each dish Chef Benedetta cooks will be accompanied by wonderful Tuscan wines.

It promises to be a fun afternoon, so join us from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Tuesday’s Celebrity Chef cooking class.  For reservations please call the restaurant at 231-944-2400.

In addition to Tuesday, July 9, Chef Benditta Vitali is teaching cooking classes all week, July 8 to July 13, at Bella Fortuna.
