Leelanau Peninsula. Foxy, spicy aroma. Palate is medium sweet, with accents of red cinnamon candy hearts and mixed citrus. Easy pairing with double smoked kielbasa, truffled deviled eggs, ham and Wasabi Panko Crusted Chicken Wings.
Left Foot Charley 2011 Sauvignon Blanc
Leelanau Peninsula. Pale, light, almost clear, with numerous tiny CO2 bubbles lining the glass. Fresh green nose of gooseberry, lime, and lemongrass. Palate is racy and elegant with a hint of soft spritz and razor focused acidity. Very mineral chalk driven lemony elements with whispers of white grapefruit, gooseberry and lemongrass lingering. Would accompany thick Greek Avgolemono soup with style. Also think zesty tabouleh with smokey baba ganoush as a pairing, or rich fish with a high acid beurre blanc.
