Northern Michigan Pre-Memorial Day Events at Tight Lines For Troops

Northern Michigan Events: In celebration of Memorial Day, support the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces at the 4th Annual Tight Lines for Troops Charity Fishing Tournament for Michigan's Veterans in Manistee.

Friday, May 17

6pm Mandatory Dinner Meeting for all captains and all Tight Lines participants of Boat and Shore Divisions. Seng Marina.

Saturday, May 18

6:30am Shotgun Start. Tight Lines for Troops tournament begins:

Big Lake Division: 4 participants per team—weigh your biggest fish. Participants must be ready to board boats by 5:30am at Seng's Marina.
Pier, Shore and River Division: Individual entry—weigh your biggest fish. Fisherman in position at 6:30am at Seng's Marina.

Box lunch provided for each participant.

12:30pm Boats gather outside the pier heads; Pier, Shore and River Fishermen must pull lines. Proceed to Seng's Marina.

1:30pm Weigh-in begins at Seng's Marina.

2:30pm Banquet and Awards Ceremony at Seng's Marina. Dinner served at 2:30pm; Awards at 3pm; Closing Ceremony 3:30pm.

5-6pm Raffle Prize Drawing at Little River Casino Resort.

Priority given to Purple Heart recipients, Disabled Veterans and POW's. Veterans pay no charter fees, entry fees or banquet fees.

All donations benefit Brain Injury Association of Michigan, Paralyzed Veterans of America Michigan Chapter and Manistee County Veterans Endowment Fund.

Manistee, the Port City, is about 65 miles southwest of Traverse City on US-31.
