New Life for a 1930s Craftsman Home in Leelanau County

Above: Marek gutted the old 1970s kitchen and then designed a new one with inspiration from home magazines and catalogs. Amenities include a soapstone island counter, a matching custom-made soapstone sink, oak (edge grain with a java stain) cabinet counters and, of course, the pastoral view out one window and the Lake Michigan panorama out the others.

Below: The upstairs bathroom reno required removing a tub enclosure that blocked the windows— and their perfectly framed view of Gull Island.
