November through April Thursday through Saturday – Noon to 5 p.m.

What's Happening Now

L. Mawby

This is the season of triage bottling, the time for the second fermentation, making the wines sparkle. Still wines blended from last fall's harvest, with the addition of older wines, sugar and yeast, are bottled. The filled bottles are sealed with a plastic bidule and a metal crown cap and placed in a metal cage on their side.

This second fermentation takes a month or two, then the effervescent wines rest for three to seven years, quietly, in the dark of the cellar.

Then, when they are mature, L. Mawby riddles and disgorges, adds dosage, and dresses the bottles, making them ready for your Northern Michigan table.

M. Lawrence

M. Lawrence is thrilled to announce their new version of the classic Redd. This sparkling red wine is made using Regent and Marechal Foch grapes. With vibrant bubbles and a plum hue, this tank fermented sparker highlights red fruit aromas prominent in the 2012 fruit.

It will be available in the M. Lawrence tasting room at the end of April and then making its way to your local wine store in May.

This summer, the M. Lawrence Sex wine will be served on tap at the Traverse City Wine & Arts Festival on June 22 featuring musical headliner and hero of the documentary, Searching for Sugar Man.
