Traverse City Events: Raid the pantry to support your team and community! Now through November 14, Williams Chevrolet hosts its MSU vs. U of M Food Drive Challenge.
Pick a color. Feed a family. Williams Chevrolet is rallying fans to fill a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado with non-perishable food items. Now through November 14, one blue and one white model of America’s best truck, are parked in the dealership’s showroom, inviting people to fill their favorite team’s vehicle with food donations.
“We wanted to create some competition for a good cause,” said Sylvia Dana, Communications Director at Williams. “We hope to engage the community by giving them a way to show their team spirit – and team rivalry with the purpose of filling each truck with the most food possible. May the fullest Silverado win.”
Williams is one of 30 area businesses collecting food for the “Food For Thought Food Drive Challenge.” The event will benefit the Northwest Food Coalition, which distributes food to 47 food pantries in Grand Traverse and the surrounding five-county area. Participating pantries include Father Fred, Salvation Army and Goodwill Industries.
“Food For Thought,” is a first-annual project organized by Northwestern Michigan College students as part of their Professional Communications course. Make your donation at Williams Chevrolet, located on Division St. near S. Airport Rd.
