Northern Michigan Events: Turkey Trot Registration Open
Last year, nearly 2,100 participants and 200 volunteers joined in on Thanksgiving morning to make the 2011 Traverse City Turkey Trot the best yet.
The event donated over $31,500 of event proceeds to TART Trails, Big Brothers Big Sisters', March of Dimes, Angel Works, TCAPS and the Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center.
This year, event organizers anticipate over 3,000 participants. The goal is to raise at least $32,000! If that is met, then in just 5 years, the Turkey Trot event will have donated over $100,000 to local non-profits in our region!
Registration is now open. The event is family-friendly and many families have participated several years in a row and it has become part of their Thanksgiving tradition. This year, there is a 5-mile course as well as the 5-kilometer course. Event organizers are busy arranging the event details and there are opportunities to help out prior to the event or day-of. Of course, if a business is interested in sponsoring the event, organizers have several sponsorship levels. Register, volunteer or become an event sponsor here: http://trot.evugo.com/.
The 2012 Up North Media, Inc. Traverse City Turkey Trot will benefit Traverse City Area Public Schools, March of Dimes, Angel Works and Traverse Region Event Directive.
