Northern Michigan Attractions: Experience Gwen Frostic Prints

Northern Michigan Attractions: On days when chilly, damp weather drives you indoors, you can still celebrate the beauty of Northern Michigan by visiting Gwen Frostic Prints in Benzonia, a short drive from Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

So much more than a store, Gwen Frostic Prints encapsulates  the simplicity of nature. Frostic developed a line of  prints based off of her lifelong observation of nature. The now iconic images of raccoons, rabbits, birds and Northern Michigan plants are printed on notepads, stationary, napkins, greeting cards, and clothing, and the still-used press can be seen in operation at the store. A work of art itself, the building is constructed from native Northern Michigan stone, glass, and collected wood and sits on a wildlife preserve on the Betsie River. After you have perused the merchandise and gone through Frostic preserved nature library, take a hike through the nature preserve, keeping your eyes open to see the loveliness that Gwen Frostic saw.
