Traverse City Events: 2012 Traverse City Wine and Art Festival

Traverse City Events: Events like the 2012 Traverse City Wine and Art Festival remind us why Traverse City was voted "Number One Foodie City" this past year- to put it  quite simply, we have got the goods! Celebrate some of the best that Northern Michigan has to offer at the 4th Annual Traverse City Wine and Art Festival, Saturday, June 30th from 3:00-10:00 p.m. at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons.

This festival is truly a collaboration of the senses! Sip award-winning wines from Northern Michigan wineries (which have gone head to head with French and California wines and come out on top!), taste food from Northern Michigan restaurants whose names are whispered reverently by food critics across the nation- Trattoria Stella, Siren Hall, Phil's on Front- peruse local art, and listen to live music. This year's entertainment will be provided by platinum recording artist Rusted Root, who will be joined by Orpheum Bell, a hybrid of bluegrass and gypsy beats, among others.

Enjoy more than 125 different vintages from 27 Northern Michigan wineries, including 2 Lads, Bowers Harbor, Black Star Farms, Gills pier, and Bel Lago, as you wander through the Food Garden and the art displays. All of this against the backdrop of another Traverse City treasure, the historic State Hospital at the Grand Traverse Commons.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; or you can volunteer and go for free!
