Leapin' Leprechaun 5K Race

Get a healthy kick-start to your St. Patricks Day at the 2nd Annual Fifth Third Leapin' Leprechaun 5K Race on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9am in Traverse City's Warehouse District. Racers will receive a t-shirt, accurate timing and results, medals for top finishers and best Irish costume, and a complimentary beverage (beer for those 21+). St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl

Green beer, decorations, costumes…anything goes during Traverse City's Annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl. Hop from bar to bar with a group of fellow Patty-fans along the designated downtown TC pub course. Make sure to pace yourself, drink responsibly and find a designated driver- this hoopla starts at 12pm at Minervas and continues all afternoon and night.

Irish Weekend at Shanty Creek Resorts

Celebrate all things Irish at Schuss Mountain, Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire, March 16-18, 2012. Cafe Sante St. Patrick's Celebration

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Cafe Sante in Boyne City on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Beaver Island

According to the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce, "On Saturday, March 17th, the place to be in Northern Michigan is America's Emerald Isle, Beaver Island!" Celebration includes the classic cart race, fish toss, tug-o-war between the Fish Chokers and the Hay Seeders and indoor games at the Shamrock. Here's how to get there!

St. Patrick's Day Parade in Pentwater

Head to downtown Pentwater from 12-3pm. The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at the South end of the Village with stops at The Antler Bar for refreshments and parade prizes, and at the Holiday Inn Express in Ludington.

St. Patrick’s Day Concert

Experience an evening of Celtic and Celtic-inspired music at the AuSable Artisan Village in Grayling from 7-9pm. Live music will be provided by Kelly Shively, Pam Luce and Dan House. Read more about this concert.

Irishfest for St. Baldrick's Foundation

Do you know someone you would love to see with a bald head? Collect as much money as it takes and come to Jolly Pumpkin and The Peninsula Room on Friday, March 16th from 6-8pm for a charity head shaving to benefit St. Baldrick's Foundation. All the money raised will be donated to fund cancer research for children. There will also be live music, limited edition St. Patrick's Day pint glasses for purchase, and $2 refills all weekend long.

    So is pub crawl on Saturday the 17th or Friday the 16th. Just heard Smitty on 95.5 say the 16th is Pubcrawl. Hearing different days from different people….

    Pub crawl on Friday? What a joke…boycott. Poor businesses need help on a Friday? B.S. St. Paddy’s Day is on a Saturday this year, why not let you patrons dictate when the Pub Crawl is……

    The bars can barely accomedate all the people on a Friday, could you imagine if it were on a weekend when so many people were off work? And, FYI, as long as I can remember, it has always been on a weekday, regardless of the actual day it falls on.

    The annual pub walk is Friday,March 16, beginning at noon at Minerva’s in the Park Place Hotel. Other stops include Bubba’s,U&I Lounge,Union Street Station,Bootleggers, Dillinger’s Pub,Brady’s,the Blue Tractor Cook Shop,Firefly and finally,from 10 to 11 p.m., the Loading Dock.

    Someone should clarify the confusion.
