Northern Michigan Events: Settle in on a snowy afternoon and dream of trout lurking in frozen streams across Northern Michigan as the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra resumes its Sundary Series recitals at 4 p.m. January 8 at the Cross in the Woods in Indian River. The program will feature Franz Schubert's famous "Trout Quintet" featuring Paul Sonner, GLCO concertmaster, Interlochen Arts Academy faculty colleagues, and friends. As an introduction to the quintet, Amy Joy Cross, soprano, will sing the Schubert song, Die Forelle, for which the Schubert quintet is named.
Sonner will be joined by David Holland, viola; Liz Bert, cello; Gary Gatzke, bass, and Steven Larson, piano, all of whom have performed on GLCO events. The free concert is thanks to the support of the Roger E. and Peggy Dicken Schwer Fund and the Petoskey / Harbor Springs Community Foundation.
