Northern Michigan Events: Shanty Creek’s Beer & Boards Microbrew Fest

Northern Michigan Events: Featuring only Michigan-made craft brews, Shanty Creek Resort’s Beer and Boards Microbrew Festival in Northern Michigan will have you hitting the slopes and enjoying some suds, après-ski style.

On January 14 from 3 to 6 pm, Northern Michigan’s Shanty Creek Resort will host the 3rd Annual Beer and Boards Microbrew Festival in the Grand Ballroom of their Lakeview Hotel (in Summit Village). Beer and Boards pairs a day on the slopes with an après-ski featuring some of Michigan’s best known master brewers including New Holland, Bells, Right Brain, Arcadia, Mt. Pleasant Brewing, Shorts Brewing Company, and more.

Shanty Creek founded the Beer and Boards Microbrew Festival on the recognition that the best ideas are usually the simplest. For most skiers, après-ski entertainment is centered around a pub and pints of beer. As such, this event is meant to be the icing on the cake for those who enjoy craft beers and a day on the slopes in beautiful Northern Michigan.

As a Michigan company whose guests are mostly Michiganders, Shanty Creek Resort has intentionally taken a “Made in Michigan” approach to the event. They understand the local appreciation for, and talent of Michigan’s many microbrewers, including their own neighbor in Bellaire, Shorts Brewing Company. Attendees will be happy to know that the 2012 Beer and Boards Microbrew Festival will feature twice the brewers than before, as it comes on the heels of the Michigan Brewer’s Guild’s 2012 annual conference, also held at Shanty Creek. Tickets to the festival are $25 and include 10, 4-ounce pours.

MyNorth Media will also be at the Beer & Boards Microbrew Festival. Stop by for chances at great giveaways!
