Traverse City Events: Tony Furtado in Concert at the Good Work Collective

Traverse City Events: Tony Furtado has been hailed as a "genius" on banjo and slide guitar and has garnered a national cult following for his unique interpretation of Americana and indie-rock. He burst onto the music scene over 25 years ago as a teenager, when he won two National Banjo Championships by the age of 19. Now a multi-instrumentalist, Furtado is touring in release of his fifteenth album, "Golden," which he recorded and produced in Portland. The performer is renowned for his energetic stage presence and lively stories of traveling on the road, an act that's been honed by his average 200-250 live performances across the country each year.

Tickets for the intimate Traverse City concert – which are limited to just 75 – range from $10-$40 and can be purchased online at porterhouseproductions.com or at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Standing room may also be available. All funds gathered support the musician and the Good Work Collective, which is a community all-arts gallery space designed to bring art and ideas to life. The Good Work Collective is located at 417 S. Union St. in downtown Traverse City.
