Traverse City Arts: Inspire your kid's creativity while allowing them to make gifts for friends and family in time for the holiday season.
Fall is in the air and the holidays are around the corner. Traverse City offers some great ways to inspire your kid's creativity while allowing them to make their very own presents for friends and family in time for the holiday season. Nothing will be more loved and appreciated than your little one's masterpieces!
Take the kids to KidzArt! For the entire month of October, KidzArt classes will be held on Tuesdays at 5:30pm, Thursdays at 7pm, and Saturdays at Noon. Pre-registration for sessions are $12 per class, or students may drop-in for $13. Children will also have the opportunity to display their KidzArt artwork at the City Opera House for the entire month of November, and will receive their artwork matted and framed the first week in December, ready to hang on their wall or wrap as a holiday gift.
Heading to the Fall Festival Sale in downtown Traverse City, Saturday October 1st? KidzArt will be open for Drop-N-Shop from 9am-4pm! Drop your kids off for $7 per child per hour and let their creativity flourish, then come back October 28th from 5-7pm for their Halloween Party! It's only $5 per person, so call for your reservations today and secure your kid's place amongst all the art, games, tricks and treats! And that's not all. KidzArt is also offering Spooky Art classes on Saturday, October 29th. Classes begin at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm, and are $7 each. With four times to choose from, plus four different art projects to enjoy, your kid can keep their Halloween spirit alive and their artistic whims busy!
Have your kids make the gift that will last (and be used!) at Handz on Art, the only place in Traverse City where your kids can decorate their own ceramics. Watch their imagination take shape as they paint coffee mugs, bowls, cups, plates and more for friends, family, even themselves! Kids can also come in and do ornaments for as little as $8. At Handz on Art everything is safe and can be used as regular dishware (they are even dishwasher safe!), making your child's ceramic not only a special piece of artwork, but a useful one that can be enjoyed time and time again.
For holiday gifts, kids can come in as late as Sunday, December 18th and still have it fired in time to pick it up on Friday the 23rd. Groups can call for reservations, so brownies, girl scouts, boy scouts, kids clubs, church groups, etc. can schedule a time to come down and create their holiday works of art. Handz on Art recommends at least a week’s notice, but groups might want to call early if they have specific dates in mind.
