Northern Michigan Events: Fun in the Snow for Kids Up North

Harbor Springs Valentine Community Sled Night, February 12Head to Kiwanis Park Sled Hill for this Harbor Springs event from 5-8 p.m. for some old-fashioned fun by way of super speedy sledding, cute crafts, and snacks that most definitely say, “be mine.” For more information call 231-526-0610.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Snow Olympics, February 13The Park Rangers are hosting this second annual Families United with Nature (FUN) Northern Michigan event, with games like snowshoe relays and snowman building.  Meet at the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Visitor Center on M-72 in Empire to make a family flag for the 2 p.m. Opening Ceremony car caravan to the games site.  Reservations not required, but are recommended.  Call Park Ranger Amie Lipscomb 231-326-5135, extension 332.

Torchlight Snowshoe at Camp Daggett, Petoskey, February 26Bounce through the beautiful woods of Walloon Lake’s favorite summer camp, Camp Daggett near Petoskey, with free snowshoes available from Bearcub Outfitters in Petoskey anytime between 5-9 p.m..  Soak up the starry skies before heading into the lodge for cookies and cocoa. We promise the crisp night air negates any sugar buzz to follow. Raffle tickets available for cool Bearcub prizes, and donations welcomed to support Camp Daggett.
