Burrit’s Fresh Market, a Traverse City specialty food market, will host a wine tasting event, featuring winemaker Giovanni Pasquero Elia of Italy’s Azienda Agricola Paitin di Pasquero Elia. This wine event is limited to 30 people and including finger food to go with the Italian wines. The cost of this tasting which includes five wines, food and special pricing is $10 per person.

Giovanni and Silvano Pasquero-Elia are the inheritors of a winemaking tradition going back seven generations. The estate, located entirely in Serraboella south and east of Neive, was purchased in 1796 and has been selling wine labeled Barbaresco since 1893. Currently the family farms 42 acres planted to Nebbiolo (for the Barbaresco), Barbera, and Dolcetto, along with tiny plots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Arneis. "Paitin" wines are recognized as  the standard in Barbaresco.
