2010 National Cherry Festival Kicks Off With a July 2 Classic Car Cruise

Join hundreds of classic cars, trucks, and tractors at the beautiful new Turtle Creek Casino facility in Williamsburg for a special Hagerty Family Cruise Night on Friday, July 2, 2010, a kick-off event for the Traverse City National Cherry Festival. Starting at 6:00 PM, join us for leisurely one hour cruise through scenic Antrim and Grand Traverse counties, followed by food, beverage and entertainment all provided free of charge to tour participants by our friends at Turtle Creek. Last year, we had over 150 vehicles, including a visit by a fleet of vintage tractors.

Former astronaut, Jerry Linenger will also be engaging with the public along with four NASA technicians from the Glenn Research Center during the Hagerty Family Car Show. Make sure you check out the Boeing Lunar Rover (LRV) Prototype that will be on display. The Lunar Roving Vehicle was developed in 1965 by the Boeing Aerospace Corporation to carry two astronauts, scientific equipment and lunar samples across the moon’s surface.
