The Polish Kitchen in Harbor Springs

Tucked in an unassuming storefront along M-119 just west of downtown Harbor Springs is the home of the best pierogi’s this side of the Atlantic.  The Polish Kitchen, owned by the Bebenek family—who immigrated to northern Michigan from Poland in the mid-1990’s—boasts the best of traditional eastern European cuisine, homemade from scratch by the family matriarch.

This restaurant is an authentic gem, full of family members, recipes handed down through the generations, and prices that can’t be beat (think $5.50 for a pierogi sampler).  Eat in and get to know the Bebenek’s or take out (if you want to sip vodka or any other drink requiring a liquor license). Fans of Polish fare will swoon over the stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, and sauerkraut—just be sure to save room for dessert, because the chocolate cheesecake crepes and apple cake will have you cheering na zdrowie! famouspolishkitchen.com, 231-838-5377.
